CuraHorse Fusion Action Oral Paste Wormer
What is it?
CuraHorseĀ® Fusion Action is a combination wormer containing two active ingredients that provide effective control of the major disease-causing parasites in adult horses, including tapeworm. The formulation combines abamectin and praziquantel to deliver broad-spectrum control of susceptible wormsāsuch as lungworms, intestinal threadworms and tapewormsāas well as bots and certain external parasites, including summer sores and neck threadworms.
Who is it for?
CuraHorseĀ® Fusion Action is a palatable paste suitable for use in adult horses and ponies, including pregnant mares, breeding stallions and geriatric horses. One syringe treats horses and ponies weighing up to 600 kg. For horses over 600 kg, an additional syringe should be used to make up the remaining dose. For example, an 800 kg horse should receive one full syringe (600 kg) plus an additional 200 kg dose from a second syringe.
To ensure accurate dosing, horses should be weighed regularly or measured using a weight tape rather than estimated by eye. Under-dosing due to underestimating body weight may reduce effectiveness and contribute to the development of parasite resistance. Always round up to the nearest kilogramānever round down.
Wormers containing only a macrocyclic lactone (such as abamectin or ivermectin), with or without a tapewormer, are not recommended for horses under two years of age. Although these products are safe, younger horses have different parasite burdens and require a tailored worming approach. Consult your veterinarian for advice on the most appropriate worming products for young horses in your area.
When should it be used?
Tapeworm burdens typically increase during the cooler months, making CuraHorseĀ® Fusion Action particularly suitable for use in autumn and early winter. This period also coincides with increased activity of small strongyles and bots, allowing for more targeted and effective parasite control than traditional rotational worming programs. CuraHorseĀ® Fusion Action may also be used at other times of the year for the treatment and control of susceptible parasites when required. It is an ideal choice for inclusion in a strategic worming program for adult horses.
