PBA Soyabean Meal Full Fat
SOYBEAN MEALS
Solvent Soybean Meal
Solvent soybean meal is produced as a by-product of extracting oil from toasted whole soybeans using a solvent process. Toasting removes any remaining solvent and helps reduce or inactivate anti-nutritional factors (primarily trypsin inhibitors) naturally found in soybeans.
Palatability: High
Protein Content: Very high, with an excellent amino acid profile. It is particularly rich in lysine—beneficial for horses—though lower in methionine. Since cereal grains can be deficient in essential amino acids, supplying a quality protein source is important, especially for muscle development or weight gain.
Recommended Inclusion Rates
Solvent soybean meal (SBM) has a low crude fibre content, meaning animals can consume relatively high amounts. However, SBM is not self-limiting, so intake must be managed carefully.
The safest way to feed SBM is through controlled feeding—either hand-feeding or as part of a balanced ration.
