Surefire Propyzamide 500 SC Herbicide provides selective control of certain grasses and broadleaf weeds in lettuce, sports turf, home lawns, legume seed crops, and pastures. The 500 g/L formulation delivers highly effective post-emergent control of winter grass in turf.

Turf Species Suitable for Winter Grass Control:

• Common Couch (Green Couch / Bermuda Grass)

• Queensland Blue Couch

• Buffalo Grass

Important Notes:

• Do not apply to bluegrass, ryegrass, fescue, or bentgrass turf/lawns.

• Some varieties, such as Kikuyu, may be significantly damaged. It is recommended to test small areas for turf safety before large-scale application. Turf safety should be assessed 6–8 weeks after treatment.

Application Guidelines:

• For best results, apply before germination or to young, actively growing winter grass in autumn/early winter.

• Propyzamide is a systemic herbicide absorbed by roots and translocated throughout the plant. Immediate irrigation of 12–25 mm is required to move the chemical into the root zone. A follow-up irrigation of 12–25 mm should be applied 24 hours later.

• Irrigation also ensures proper solubilization of propyzamide, allowing the plant to absorb an effective dose. Applying the product to cool, moist soil achieves optimal results.

Mode of Action:
In turf, Propyzamide 500 SC Herbicide works by stunting the growth of winter grass, particularly germinating seeds. By limiting growth, the plant is unable to spread or reproduce. Sustained treatment is necessary for effective winter grass control and is suitable for Buffalo and Couch lawns.
