Wild May Fruit Fly Attractant

Wild May Fruit Fly Attractant

Wild May Fruit Fly Attractant provides a pesticide-free solution for controlling male Queensland fruit flies. ACO certified and made from native Australian essential oils, it offers an organic, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective approach to fruit fly management.

The attractant lures male fruit flies, preventing them from infesting crops. With no withholding period required, it is safe for people, produce, and beneficial insects. Made from essential oils, this organic attractant holds ACO Allowable Organic Input Status, meeting high organic standards.

For best results, four traps per hectare (2.5 acres) are recommended. Traps can be created using common household items such as plastic drink bottles.

Directions for Use:

  • Pour attractant into the trap to a depth of at least 20 mm.

  • Place traps upwind, on the shaded eastern side of trees, approximately 1.2 meters above the ground.

  • Position four traps per hectare, evenly spaced in areas where fruit flies are a concern.

  • Recharge traps when the attractant evaporates to a 15 mm depth. Remove dead flies during recharge.

  • Initially, traps may catch a large number of flies, followed by a decrease, indicating effective control.

Wild May eliminates the current generation of fruit flies while disrupting the mating cycle of fertile females. Continuous use throughout the year can significantly reduce fruit fly activity and, in some cases, eliminate infestations entirely.
